June 2022 Search Update

Dear Fellow Parishioners,

Happy summer from the Rector Search Committee.

We are pleased to announce that the Parish Profile, which is necessary to post the Rector position, is complete and posted on the National Office of Transitional Ministries. For now, the Search Committee awaits responses for up to 8 weeks. At that point, we will review resumes and set up first round interviews.

Several parishioners have asked what to do if they know someone that wishes to apply for the Rector position. If you know someone that is interested, please ask them to submit their information directly to the Arizona Diocese through The Rev. Canon Anita Braden. Her information is as follows:

The Rev. Canon Anita Braden, Canon to the Ordinary & Chief of Staff

anita@azdiocese.org

Arizona Episcopal Diocese

114 W. Roosevelt Street

Phoenix, Arizona 85003-1406

Also, please encourage that individual to refer to the Office of Transitional Ministry of the Episcopal Church at: https://www.episcopalchurch.org/ministries/transition-ministry/ for any additional information. The Search Committee is thrilled to have parishioners make recommendations but we must adhere to the protocol laid out by the Diocese.

Lastly, if you wish to view the Parish Profile, it can be found on our website at: www.allsaintsoncentral/rectorsearch.org.

As always, please reach out to any member of the Rector Search Committee with questions or comments.

Enjoy your summer and stay tuned….

Warm regards,

Ann Halaby

Rector Search Committee Chair

April 2022 Search Update

April 22, 2022

Dear All Saints’ Church Members,

Happy Easter!

On behalf of the Rector Search Committee, I am writing this letter to keep you, members of our congregation, informed as to the Committee’s developments. Before I begin, the Committee wishes to thank you for putting your faith in our ability to identify a Rector just right for All Saints’ Episcopal Church and Day School. We are honored and will do our utmost to serve this congregation as true representatives.

Search Committee activity is already in full swing. Earlier this month, we met with the Rev. Canon Anita Braden of the Arizona Episcopal Diocese to discuss the full search process, including how the committee works with the Diocese, Vestry and congregation. We are currently in the process of updating our Parish Profile, with the intent of posting it for application submission in May. While we wait for applicants to apply, the Committee will be preparing for first round interviews. Over the summer months, we hope to speak with and interview applicants and ultimately, invite the top outstanding candidates to interview on campus in the fall. The Search Committee will work closely with members of the Vestry in this process and also inform the congregation as events progress.

This is an exciting time for All Saints’ Episcopal Church and Day School. And much like Easter, the Search Committee feels this is our time for renewal. We will do our best to serve you well.

With warm regards,

Ann Halaby

Search Committee Chair

Ten Reasons Why All Saints'

is a Great Place to Serve

  1.  It’s gratifying to serve with energetic, supportive, fun colleagues. Our staff of 12, including 3 full-time priests, works collaboratively towards our common mission. God is doing great things at and through All Saints’, and it is fulfilling to be part of something meaningful.
  2. Between our church and day school, there is never a dull moment at All Saints’, with lots of activity during the school and program year on our campus and in the community.
  3. We have some of the best traditional liturgy and music in The Episcopal Church. We worship from the Book of Common Prayer an average of 14 times per week, including day school chapels, Evening Prayer, monthly choral Evensong, weddings and funerals.
  4. All Saints’ is a diverse congregation: Republicans and Democrats, young families and seniors, gays and lesbians, singles, wealthy and poor, from different backgrounds. We are united in a centrist, non-partisan, healthy community of respect that follows Jesus Christ in the Episcopal tradition as we pray, learn, serve and connect with God and each other.
  5. We take our spiritual formation seriously. Our members of all ages appreciate learning about the faith. We have a solid foundation, but seek to grow in numbers and discipleship.
  6. We are committed to serving those in need in our city and beyond. We have active partnerships with many local agencies, including Nourish Phoenix / ICM Food and Clothing Bank, Feed My Starving Children, André House, and Saint Mary's Food Bank, and internationally with Saint Paul’s Church and School in Haiti.
  7. The weather. Phoenix has more than 300 days of sunshine per year. Sure, the summer is hot, but the late fall, winter, and spring are amazing.
  8. Phoenix has all the amenities of a big city: music and the arts, sports teams, outdoor activities, and great cuisine. The Southwest is a rich and unique landscape and culture.
  9. Phoenix is affordable for a major city.
  10. Have we mentioned the sunshine?
