Dr. Craig Westendorf

Dr. Westendorf holds degrees from the Eastman School of Music, the University of Notre Dame, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  He returned to Notre Dame to conduct the Liturgical Choir, and then taught music history at the University of Illinois.  A resident of the Valley for over 30 years, he has served as Director of Music at First United Methodist Church, Phoenix, and established the music program at St. Anthony on the Desert Episcopal Church, Scottsdale.  In addition to community choirs, he has been continually involved with children’s choirs at the Phoenix Boys Choir, Arizona School for the Arts, and Rosies House.  He has published scholarly articles in 17th century music and devotion as well as anthems for younger choirs.
