Dr. Tom Peterson

Tom Peterson is a conductor and composer based in Phoenix. Tom has led an Episcopal music program for the past ten years, and has also served as Artistic Director of the Master Chorale of Flagstaff and the Green Valley Community Chorus. In addition to his new role at All Saints', Tom is the Assistant Director of the Phoenix Chorale, and an active composer and arranger, published by E. C. Schirmer on the Dale Warland Choral Series. He earned his MMus in composition at the Royal College of Music in London, and his DMA in choral conducting at the University of Arizona. In between, he spent four years on the faculty of Phoenix College, where he taught music theory, ear training, and music history. 

 

A collaborator with Canyon Records, his debut commercial recording as conductor and producer was released last year with Platinum recording artist R. Carlos Nakai, and he has collaborated with a number of other groups both local (ASU Gammage Beyond Series, Tetra Quartet, Paradise Winds) and elsewhere (Trinity Wall Street, NYC, Festival Chorus, London, Ionian Singers, London).

 

Tom and his wife, Teriann, have two young children, Theo and Ellie.
